After waiting a number of years to join the Kings Lynn Stars, Chris 'Bomber' Harris has certainly shown the fans what they have been waiting to see so far this season.
Starting the season at reserve was always going to be a trump card for Rob Lyons' team, and Chris certainly set off like a rocket in the early stages. His debut for the Stars resulting in a paid 18 point maximum against his previous club Oxford in the KO Cup.
"It was a dream start to my time here, and it always helps riding a track that I have confidence in, but a track that also allows me to win from the front, but also attack from the back. It was also nice to get a good score against my old club" joked Bomber
Bombers stint at reserve proved very fruitful with a paid 13 score at Oxford securing the Ko Cup qualification, followed by paid 17 and paid 18 scores at home against Belle Vue and Leicester respectively. Another paid 13 score this time away at Owlerton against the Sheffield Tigers was followed by his last meeting at reserve in what should have been his 2nd maximum of the season, before a fall in heat 11 scuppered that chance.
One meeting in the number 1 race jacket only brought back paid 6 points, something that Chris has been honest enough to speak about.
"For some reason in the top league I've struggled at number 1. Not sure why because at other numbers I am beating the top boys, but it happens. Since moving into a different race jacket the scores have returned!" said Chris
Scores of 13 v Ipswich, paid 12 against Birmingham and another paid 13 score vs Ipswich proves that point. And away from home a second double figure score at both Oxford and Sheffield has continued his fine form for the Stars.
"I'm enjoying racing for the club, and if Buster can continue to prepare the track as he has been I am looking forward to the next few months and racking up more points".
